Ngage Management Partners with Habitat for Humanity Capital Region’s Women Build Program

OKEMOS, Michigan, November 18, 2020 – Ngage Management is proud to have provided financial sponsorship with a $5,000 donation and volunteer hours to support Habitat for Humanity Capital Region’s Women Build Program and support the mission of building homes, communities and hope in the local community. The Women Build Program involves local women leaders and community members in Habitat Capital Region’s mission by raising funds and bringing women together to volunteer on site building and repairing homes in the community.

“I’m a firm believer in giving back to the community and the Women Build Program is a great fit,” said Tobi Lyon, CEO and Founder of Ngage. “As a Board Member for Habitat for Humanity Capital Region, I get to see the great work being done around Lansing and I’m honored that Ngage has the opportunity to be directly involved.”

Women Build Program participants are getting to work this week in Lansing to build a new home for a local family in need of safe, decent and affordable place to live. Volunteers will build and install interior and exterior walls, set roof trusses and decking, and house wrap the walls and roof to keep their work protected during the winter months when work will continue on the interior of the home.

The home will be completed next spring and sold to Habitat homebuyer, Lonetta, through Habitat Capital Region’s Homeownership Program. Lonetta is a mother to 5 children between the ages of 19 years and 18 months old. She has partnered with Habitat Capital Region to build a healthier, more independent future for herself and her family.

“Ngage’s investment in Habitat Capital Region’s Women Build Program directly impacts the work we are able to do in the community. We have no shortage of qualified applicants to our programs who need assistance - funding is our limiting factor to be able to serve these people. We are so grateful that Ngage understands the value of safe and affordable housing, especially during this pandemic which has made the need for a healthy home more important than ever,” said Habitat for Humanity Capital Region’s Resource Development Director, Carmen Hall.

Women Build Program opportunities are available throughout the year and no experience is necessary. Volunteers work under the guidance of construction professionals, and alongside other volunteers and future Habitat homeowners. The program is a powerful message of women helping women, and building stronger communities, together.
